Bean and cheese melt

This bean and cheese melt is the ultimate quick and comforting snack! With crispy, golden puff pastry, gooey melted cheese, and a rich baked bean filling, it’s a simple yet satisfying treat for the whole family. Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Cut the ready-rolled puff pastry into two 11 x 12cm pieces (one top and one bottom).
  3. Brush beaten egg onto the bottom piece of pastry, ensuring full coverage.
  4. Spoon the beans onto the bottom piece, leaving a 15mm border, then sprinkle with grated cheese.
  5. Place the top pastry piece over the bottom, then press down the edges to seal. Use a fork to firmly crimp the edges.
  6. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  7. Place on a lined baking tray and bake for 25 minutes until golden and crispy.

  • 25g Mature Cheddar cheese (grated)
  • 2x Pieces puff pastry (11 x 12cm each)
  • 1x Egg (beaten, for sticking and glazing)
