Simple Tomato Salsa

Unexpected guests? Then this is the recipe that you need in your cookbook. It's that simple; the recipe can be made in five minutes.

This recipe was created by our 2019 Love Canned Food ambassador, Phil Vickery. 

  • Prep: 10 mins
  • Serves: 4 Servings


1Drain the tomatoes well in a colander.

2Place all the other ingredients into a bowl and mix well.

3Add enough juice just to make a thick relish, serve.


1 x 400g canned tomatoes in juice

1 small red onion very finely chopped

4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

2 tbsp vinegar

2 tbsp sugar

Salt and pepper
