Easy Fish Tacos

These fish tacos are super delicious, and rest assured that the recipe is much easier than you might think!

This recipe was created by our 2019 Love Canned Food ambassador, Phil Vickery.

1Heat the oil then add the onions and garlic and soften for 5 minutes, then add the beans and warm through for 2 minutes.

2Remove the pan and spoon the contents into a bowl and gently break down with a fork or potato masher, don’t go mad, then add the sweetcorn and mix well and cool.

3Next, add the mayo and again mix well.

4Gently flake the fish but leave in nice pieces but not to small and add to the mayo mix along with the lemon juice and carefully fold together.

5Lay out a soft tortilla or position the crisp versions and place a little lettuce into each one.

6Spoon in the fish mix evenly, then top with a little coriander and spicy sauce, fold or serve.


1 x 400g canned cannellini beans, drained

1 x 165g canned sweetcorn, drained

1 x 125g canned mackerel, drained

1 x 418g canned salmon, drained

4 tbsp oil

8 spring onions, sliced thinly on the diagonal

1 cloves garlic, chopped

200g mayo

A squeeze of lemon juice

8 soft or crunchy tacos

2 heads of Little Gem lettuce

4 tbsp chopped fresh coriander

2 tbsp Siracha or sweet chilli sauce, optional
